15 Russian cargo planes have landed in Russia in last two weeks

At least 15 Russian cargo planes carrying “equipment and personnel” landed at a western Syrian military base in the last two weeks, according to an AFP report.

“For the last two weeks, up until Saturday morning, Russian cargo planes have landed every morning at the military base” in the province of Latakia, one of the main Syrian regime strongholds, the AFP source said.

According to her, “at least 15 aircraft of this type, wearing the colors of the Russian flag, hauled equipment and personnel” to the base located within the civilian airport.

The planes are escorted by fighter aircraft upon landing and taking off, “for protection,” she said.
