An 8-year-old boy was killed after being hit by a bus in Jerusalem’s Shmuel Hanavi neighborhood on Sunday afternoon.
A Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedic that arrived at the scene described how "A boy of about 8 years of age was lying on the side of the road near a bus and a bicycle."
"The boy was unconscious, without a pulse and was not breathing."
Witnesses present at the scene described how the boy was hit by the bus. Paramedics evacuated the young boy to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital in the northeast of the capital, where doctors declared his death.
Shortly afterward, it was reported that 40-year-old man was killed in a car accident on Route 65 near the Golani Junction. A 7-year-old boy who was severely injured in the crash was evacuated to Rambam hospital in Haifa via an MDA helicopter.
Two other accidents occurred on Sunday.
In the early hours of the morning, a two-and-a-half-year-old girl was injured in an accident between a bus and a private vehicle on Highway 204 between Yeruham and Dimona. Another woman, aged 40, was severely wounded, too, and three people were moderately injured in that accident as well.
The other accident involved a four-year-old boy who was moderately wounded after being hit by a car on Mintz street in Be'er Sheva. He suffered head injuries and was transferred for medical treatment at the Soroka Hospital.
