2 Taiwanese pilots on training craft found dead after crash

Taiwanese media say two pilots have been found dead in the cabin of the aircraft that went down in the mountainous areas of central Taiwan earlier this week. The China News Agency said Saturday that Maj. Wang Ching-chun and 1st Lt. Huang Chun-jung were piloting the AT-3 Air Force Academy training craft when it lost contact with air traffic controllers on Tuesday. Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense says authorities found aircraft debris and confirmed it to be from the missing plane in the early hours of Saturday. CNA says the pilots did not issue any abnormal calls before they lost contact and that the aircraft’s flight record in the past three months showed no irregularities.
