After police beating of Ethiopian soldier, protesters block off major Tel Aviv junction

Hundreds of protesters were taking part in a demonstration against racism and police brutality towards Ethiopians were blocking the busy Hashalom Junction in Tel Aviv on Sunday afternoon. 

There was a heavy police presence in the area.  

The Tel Aviv protest follows a demonstration in Jerusalem in which police used tear gas to clear the crowd, and in the ensuing fracas, three policemen and more than 10 protesters were hurt and received medical treatment.
