Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon (Likud) encouraged constant vigilance on Wednesday, during a visit to the "Jordan Lions" Brigade in the Jordan Valley.
"The result in every encounter with terrorists should be like this: that you remain standing while the terrorist is on the ground," he stated. "You should be aware that someone is looking at you and looking for the weak spot."
Ya'alon also addressed the waves of terror rippling through Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria.
"In Judea and Samaria, we are going through a time of multiple incidents," he said. "The trick is not to become a target by terror networks or individual attempts to carry out attacks, and if that happens you need to work immediately to neutralize the threat."
"The result in every encounter with a terrorist should be, you're standing and the terrorist is on the ground," he reiterated. "If you respond by transmitting a sense of vigilance through a professional and determined response to the threat, you will decrease the chances of injury."
The past several weeks have seen a surge in rock attacks, stabbings, Molotov cocktail attacks, and attacks on IDF soldiers. In the most recent attack, a two-year-old girl and an Israeli man were wounded on Wednesday after terrorists hurled rocks at cars on the 443 highway.
