An Arab assailant from eastern Jerusalem assaulted a haredi woman with a glass bottle Monday.
The woman, a 45-year-old tour guide, was guiding a group of tourists at the Yafo (Jaffa) Gate when the man – a 22-year-old resident of Jabal Mukaber – struck her over the head with a bottle and ran off.
The woman suffered light injuries and was taken by Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency services to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital for treatment.
The attacker was caught by police and Border Police near Tzahal Square, located near the Municipality building, shortly after he escaped.
The attack follows an attempted stabbing earlier in the day, in which two Arab terrorists were shot dead at the Jalameh Crossing, north of Jenin in Samaria.
