Being Kind to All Kinds of Jews

For centuries, the Jewish community has been praying for God to "bring us home from the four corners of the world."

In Israel we have been blessed with the homecoming of Russian Jews and Ethiopian Jews, who have done their best to integrate within a society that should have accepted them with open arms and offers of help.

In reality, we have fallen short of our mission to embrace Jews from other countries, and often make new immigrants feel like outsiders due to their accent, or color, or manner of dress or speech. We need a good dose of national reflection and think of ways to do things differently.
