Bennett Warns: You Can’t Run From Terror

Marking ten years since the 2005 Disengagement plan in which all Jews were expelled from Gush Katif in Gaza, Education Minister Naftali Bennett (Jewish Home) met with students at the Gush Katif Heritage Center on Tuesday, where he also spoke with Arutz Sheva.

At the Center, located in Nitzan near Ashkelon, Bennett called to "never again" uproot Jewish communities as was done with Gush Katif, noting how Gaza has turned into a launching pad for rockets against Israel since the expulsion.

"Whoever runs from terror, terror pursues them. Terrorists today sit in the homes of Gush Katif residents. No state in the world would agree to do such a warped thing to its citizens, and we will never do it again," Bennett said.

Speaking to the students on Tuesday, Bennett discussed the effects of the Disengagement, saying, "whoever wants to understand why Israel's standing in the world was harmed, let them come to the town of Gush Katif evacuees and be reminded."

"This is the reason, and this week we saw the results. The terror flotilla is the result of the Disengagement, the UN report (against Israel) is the result of the Disengagement, and the thought of the Palestinians that by killing and murder they will expel us from here – that's the result and that's the price that we are paying every day."

The minister's statements come in the wake of a recent spate of terrorist attacks, including a stabbing attack and shooting attack on Monday.
