Berlin department store apologizes, restocks Israeli ‘settlement’ wines

Berlin’s high-end department store KaDeWe said Sunday that Israeli wines are back on their shelves, following a decision to remove them for being Israeli settlement products.

The controversial move was initially made in order to adhere to new EU guidelines mandating labels on goods from the West Bank, east Jerusalem and the Golan Heights, but the store now admits that the decision was wrong, following a slew of criticism, even from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

In a statement on Sunday, KaDeWe said that "In this matter, which was about a European Union recommendation, we acted too quickly and insensitively."
