Biden to visit Israel in March

US Vice President Joe Biden is to visit Israel on March 7 for a two-day visit in the hopes of reaching an understanding ahead of signing the defense memorandum of understanding between the two nations. Biden’s planned arrival comes amid controversy over defense aid and after the prime minister said two weeks ago that if the two countries cannot reach an understanding, it would be better to postpone signing until the next president is sworn in – a statement that angered many in the US government.
