Big test for new-look Hap TA on the road at Beersheba

After getting life without Gili Vermouth off to a winning start, Hapoel Tel Aviv visits Hapoel Beersheba on Saturday hoping to truly kick-start its season.

The 2-1 victory over Hapoel Ra’anana last weekend, secured in stoppage time thanks to Moshe Ohayon’s stoppage-time winner, was just Hapoel’s second win in the past 12 matches. It released massive pressure and vaulted Hapoel back into contention for a top-six finish and a berth in the championship playoffs.

With five matches remaining in the regular season, Hapoel is only two points behind Ra’anana in sixth place, while holding a seven-point gap over Hapoel Petah Tikva and the relegation zone.
