An Israeli man was killed in a minibus fire in Bnei Brak Wednesday night under otherwise unclear circumstances.
The man, a well-known driver in the city in his fifties, was found dead in the burning bus on Nehemia St., according to haredi news site Kikar Hashabbat.
Magen David Adom and United Hatzalah medics arrived at the scene but failed to revive him.
"When we arrived the bus was burning and firefighters worked to extinguish the fire," Paramedic Gal Pe'er told Walla! News. "A few minutes later, when we could, we scanned the minibus and found a man there, lifeless. We were forced to declare him dead at the scene."
Two other cars in the vicinity were also set aflame due to their proximity to the minibus.
Firefighting teams and police are investigating the incident – which follows an unusual spate of firs and car accidents nationwide.
