Bombings, mortar fire kill 8 people in Iraq

A series of bombings and mortar strikes in and near the Iraqi capital killed eight people on Friday as Baghdad police discovered six bodies with gunshot wounds, officials said. In the capital’s southern district of Dora, mortar shells killed two people inside their homes early in the morning, and wounded four others. Bombs also targeted market places Friday, usually a shopping day for many Iraqis.
