Car bomb that killed 3 innocent bystanders in 2003 at center of major organized crime case

A botched underworld hit that killed three innocent bystanders in December 2003 is at the center of an organized crime case that broke Monday, and which police are already saying is one of the biggest cases they have ever handled.

The suspects in the bombing, which targeted mobster Ze’ev Rosenstein at a change store he frequented on Yehuda HaLevi Street, are among 44 people arrested by police on Monday morning. The case also includes an attempt on Rosenstein’s life using a car bomb at the Tel Aviv exhibition grounds earlier that year.

In addition, a number of the suspects are believed to be involved in the murder of Micah Ben-Harush, who disappeared in 2005.
