Chief Rabbi Yosef bans Kol Barama radio station from broadcasting his Torah lessons

Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef has banned the Kol Barama haredi radio station from broadcasting his weekly Torah lessons, the latest step in a fierce campaign being waged against the station by Shas and its chairman Minister for Periphery Minister and MK Aryeh Deri.

Kol Barama is part owned by businessman Tzvi Amar who is a close ally of renegade former Shas chairman Eli Yishai and was originally established with the assistance of the Shas party in 2009 when Yishai was still party chairman.

The station would broadcast the weekly Saturday night Torah lesson of Yosef’s father, the revered late Shas spiritual leader Rabbi Ovadiah Yosef.
