Defense Ministry completes first stage of Tzriffin base demolition

The Defense Ministry has cleared 10,000 square meters from the Tzriffin military complex near Rishon Lezion, completing the first phase of its historic decision to demolish the base and move its units to peripheral region, making way for residential construction in central Israel.

According to a Ministry statement released on Sunday, officials have launched a tender for the evacuation of 65,000 square meters – the second phase of the plan – and for the construction and development of 50,000 square meters.

The Ministry’s Engineering and Construction Branch, which is overseeing the evacuation, destroyed hundreds of structures in Tzriffin’s Site 4 area, including the Tenth Training Base that serves the IDF Medical Corps, the Sixth Training Base serving the Logistics Corps, and Ground Forces unit buildings.
