Dozens wounded in German movie theater shooting

An armed man opened fire in a movie theater near the western German city of Frankfurt. He has since been shot and killed by a special police unit.

Local media report that about 25 people were injured, though some reports suggest that a large portion of the injuries are due to tear gas.

No information about the attacker has been released except for claims that he is wearing a mask and a cartridge belt.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry is in contact with the situation room in Germany. German authorities say they are not aware of any foreign citizens, including Israelis, who were present.

More information will be updated when it is available.
