Eight soldiers killed in southeast Turkey bomb attack

Eight Turkish soldiers were killed in a bomb attack on their vehicle by Kurdish militants in the southeastern province of Siirt, security sources said on Wednesday. The attack, blamed on Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militants, came amid a surge in violence across the mainly Kurdish southeast after the breakdown of a two-year ceasefire last month.
