Erekat denies secret Israeli-Palestinian negotiations

Senior Fatah member Saeb Erekat, the head of the Palestinian peace negotiations team, denied Thursday that Israel and the Palestinians were holding secret talks, Al-Quds news website reported. “It does not appear like negotiations will be renewed soon with the Israeli government still building in the settlements, setting facts on the ground and refusing to abide by existing agreements,” he said. He said the bill proposal calling to apply Israeli law to the settlements in the West Bank is a “preparation to annex the settlements and this is a new war crime and a clear violation of international law.”
