EU program installs computerized waste composter in Upper Galilee community

A computerized waste composting plant is now serving the community of Kfar Hanasi in the Upper Galilee, as a result of a European Union project.

The composter, capable of treating up to 20 tons of organic waste per month, is the first of six such facilities to be installed in the Upper Galilee under the framework of the SCOW project, which stands for: Selective collection of the organic waste in tourist areas. In addition to partaking an awareness campaign that accompanied the composter’s installation, Kfar Hanasi residents are now receiving door-to-door collection services of their organic waste, the project coordinators announced on Monday evening.
