Ex-Givati commander convicted of inappropriate behavior, lowered in rank

The special military court at the Kirya in Tel Aviv decided on Thursday to lower the former Givati battalion commander Liran Hajbi’s rank and give him a two months suspended sentence. Hajbi was convicted of five counts of inappropriate behavior, some sexual in nature, towards a female soldier under his command, May Fatal. Hajbi, whose rank was lowered from lieutenant colonel to major, pleaded guilty to the actions attributed to him as part of a plea bargain. He was also dismissed from the army.
