Former Israel Security Association (ISA, also known as the Shabak or Shin Bet) head and current Likud MK Avi Dichter has responded to Joint List head Ayman Odeh's insinuation that he is a murderer.
“Ayman Odeh was mistaken yesterday. He does not understand that he is an Israeli citizen. When you call the head of ISA a murderer, it has national implications. Maybe I should remind you how many Palestinians your leaders – Rantissi and Yassin – murdered,” Dichter wrote this morning (Tuesday).
He added: “With an unfortunate statement Odeh turned himself into a representative of the Hamas administration in the Israeli Knesset and abandoned the security of Israeli citizens – both Jewish and Arab.”
The former security chief then referred to Hamas founders Rantissi and Yassin, stating, “I am proud that I had the privilege to send both of them – exactly a month apart from each other – deep into the ground.”
Last night, Odeh told Channel 2 that “There are MKs who sent people to kill the leadership of the Palestinian people – Dichter sent people who killed [former Palestinian Authority chairman Yasser] Arafat, as well as well as [senior Hamas leaders] Ahmed Yassin and Rantissi, and he is in the Knesset. He sent people to murder other people.”
