First questioning of IDF Gaza war commander for alleged war crimes expected Monday

IDF Lt. Col. Neria Yeshurun on Monday is set to be questioned under caution by military police, which will make him the first high ranking commander to face a serious criminal investigation for alleged war crimes during the summer 2014 Gaza war.

Yeshurun’s questioning follows the IDF’s June 11 decision to open a full criminal investigation into an incident in which Yeshurun on July 23, 2014 ordered the shelling of a pharmacy in Gaza under disputed circumstances.

No one has claimed that civilians were hurt during the shelling.
