FM Liberman instructs party activists to distribute Charlie Hebdo after sales event cancelled

"Israel should not be turned into the Islamic State, and we will not allow radical Islam to threaten us and harm freedom of expression," Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman wrote on Sunday following the decision of Israel’s Steimatzky bookstore chain to cancel a sales event of the Charlie Hebdo satirical newspaper.

Before the terror in France earlier this month that killed twelve people at the French weekly magazine Charlie Hebdo, very few people in Israel had ever heard of the satirical journal and even less ever read it.
