Former cabinet secretary among new suspects questioned in Yisrael Beytenu corruption case

A former cabinet secretary and a one-time top aide to former defense minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer are among four suspects brought in for questioning on Monday as part of new revelations in a wide-reaching corruption case mainly revolving around officials from the Yisrael Beytenu party.

Two of the detainees, including the former Ben-Eliezer aide, are suspected of having given bribes so that a specific advertising company would be contracted for state-funded projects and given government funding.

The former cabinet secretary, who runs a consulting firm, is suspected of taking a commission so that a specific public relations company would receive a contract for a project carried out by a number of different NGOs working together.
