Four protesters indicted for role in Sunday night riot in Tel Aviv

Four suspects arrested Sunday night after a protest spun out of control in central Tel Aviv’s Rabin Square were indicted on a series of charges in a Tel Aviv court on Wednesday, all for charges involving assault on police officers.

The most serious charges are faced by 36-year-old Migbeh Lakao from Bat Yam, who was indicted for allegedly punching a police officer in the back and gouging his fingers in another officer’s eyes while he was resisting arrest at the rally by Ethiopian-Israelis against police brutality and racism.

He was indicted on charges of aggravated assault of a police officer and mayhem.
