Government approves plan to cut greenhouse gases, promising NIS 30 billion in savings

A push to energy efficiency could save Israel’s economy NIS 30 billion. That was the claim made by the government on Sunday as it approved a program to reduce greenhouse gases and improve energy efficiency in order to meet its goals set at the historic United Nations Conference on Climate Change in Paris this past December.

At the time, leaders from almost 200 countries adopted a universal climate agreement to minimizing global warming by curbing greenhouse gas emissions.
