Police launched a successful undercover investigation after four recent cases in which guns were stolen from the homes of soldiers in Zichron Yaakov and Binyamina, south of Haifa on Israel's western coast.
Coast District Central Unit investigators figured out the thieves' modus operandi: they waited near the Binyamina train station and followed soldiers who got off the train there, all the way to their homes. They later broke into the homes and stole the guns.
Two of the suspects were arrested Thursday. They are Arabs from the village of Kfar Kara, both in their 20s. Stolen weapons were found in their possession.
The two will be arraigned Friday and police said more arrests can be expected.
