The chairman of the Israeli Labour party, Isaac Herzog told the an audience at the Munich Security Conference on Sunday that they were working towards a "binding demilitarization" of the Gaza strip.
"As we saw last summer the powder keg of Gaza can explode at any given moment. Gaza desperately requires economic reconstruction. And so one of my initial policy initiatives will be to work with our regional allies and our strategic partners towards a binding resolution towards the binding demilitarization of Gaza-strip in exchange for a very significant reconstruction process, a kind of mini Marshall-plan if you will. This with the aim of bringing quiet and tranquility to our border and Gaza for years to come," he said.
