Highest IDF commander in Hebron shooter trial: No operational justice for shooting

The highest ranking IDF commander in the ongoing trail of Elor Azaria, who is accused of manslaughter in the March 24 shooting of an immobile Palestinian terrorist, testified in court on Wednesday.

IDF Col. Yariv Ben Ezra told the Jaffa Military Court that there was no operational justice for the shooting, because there was no danger to life after Palestinian Abdel Fatah al-Sharif was "neutralized."

The military command charged that he had never seen a soldier "depart so extremely from the [IDF’s] rules of engagement" as he did in the Hebron shooting.
