IDF commander cleared of war crimes charges for opening fire on Gaza pharmacy

In one of the most anticipated IDF war crimes cases, IDF Lt. Col. Neria Yeshurun was cleared late Tuesday night by the IDF legal division of criminal charges of unlawfully opening fire on a pharmacy during the summer 2014 Gaza war.

Yehsurun was also censured for his actions.

Military Advocate General Brig. Gen. Sharon Afek ruled that evidence presented shows that Yeshurun’s actions were unlawful as opposed to against the army’s higher purity of arms ideals, and did not meet the high standard required for filing a criminal indictment.
