IDF soldiers threatened by haredi mob in Mea She’arim

Police were called into Jerusalem’s Mea She’arim neighborhood after three uniformed IDF soldiers were surrounded by a hostile mob of haredim while praying in an area synagogue.

At approximately 11 a.m. on Thursday, the unidentified soldiers were threatened for their military service by 80 men, according to Israel Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld “Several ultra-Orthodox residents spotted the three soldiers praying inside one of the synagogues in the neighborhood, and we soon received an emergency call from one of the soldiers saying that there was a demonstration outside and that they were surrounded and threatened,” said Rosenfeld.
