Israel asks US for extra missile defense funds, report says

Israel has asked the US Congress for an additional $317 million for missile defense systems, Bloomberg reported on Saturday. The funds were reportedly requested for the David’s Sling and Arrow 3 systems.

Israeli defense officials declined to comment on the report.

According to Bloomberg, the request for funds is on top of the $158 million earmarked by President Barack Obama for Israeli air defense programs.
