Israel: ‘Deep sorrow’ over death of Argentine prosecutor who led investigation into attack on BA Jewish community center

The State of Israel issued an official statement on Sunday regarding the death of Argentine special prosecutor Alberto Nisman who had been leading an investigation into a possible cover up initiated by President Cristina Kirchner of Iranian suspects involved in the 1994 bombing of the AMIA Jewish community center in Buenos Aires. Israel expressed “deep sorrow over the tragic circumstances of the death.” It was also written in the statement that “Nisman worked with great determination in order to expose the identity of the perpetrators behind the attack and those who sent them.” Israel wrote that it hoped Argentina would continue Nisman’s work and “make every attempt possible to bring to justice those responsible for the attacks in Argentina.”
