A senior security source commented Wednesday on the the two Israelis missing in the Gaza Strip and said that Hamas asked Israel for payment in return for information on the fate of Abraham Mangisto and the other Israeli whose name is forbidden to be published.
He added that in indirect talks between Israel and Hamas in Cairo after Operation Protective Edge, Israel offered Hamas to return
the bodies of 20 Palestinian terrorists were killed and terrorist detained during the operation in exchange for the bodies of the two soldiers Oron Shaul and Hadar Goldin.
“This proposal is still on the table today,” said the security source, stressing that the issue of the two Israelis missing in Gaza is being dealt with separately from the bodies of the two soldiers. “Since the case has been made known we have not received further information and Hamas will leverage more information about the two Israelis as bargaining chips,” he added. “They want us to pay for information about the fate of the two Israelis.”
