Israel to send firefighting planes to Cyprus to help combat Paphos blaze

Cyprus has reached out to Israel on Saturday evening, asking for help in fighting a large fire in the city of Paphos. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instructed Israel’s firefighting forces to send air tanker planes to Cyprus with haste. The regional cooperation between Israel and Cyprus includes an agreement to provide aid in times of emergency and, indeed, Cyprus was the first to send firefighting planes to combat the massive fire on Mount Carmel in 2010.
