Israeli Arab NGO to meet with PM, present 5.5 billion-development plan

The government should allocate $5.5 billion shekels to develop Arab communities in the budget for 2015-16, a delegation of the National Committee of Arab Heads of Municipal Authorities is going to tell Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday, an Israeli Arab NGO head told The Jerusalem Post on Sunday.

Jafar Farah, the director of Haifa’s Mossawa Center – The Advocacy Center for Arab Citizens in Israel – said that a multi-year economic plan drawn up with the assistance of his organization would be presented at the meeting with the prime minister.

The meeting of Arab mayors and municipality heads with the prime minister, which will include the mayors of Sakhnin, Nazareth, and Kafr Kasim, would be their first since the last election, noted Farah.
