A 20-year-old Israel was killed early Sunday afternoon in a traffic accident on Route 80, in the village of Hawara near Shechem in Samaria.
The victim, a motorcyclist, was killed after being struck by a Palestinian bus. Magen David Adom teams rushed to the site to perform CPR on the young man but were forced to confirm his death.
Initial reports indicate the motorcyclist overtook a convoy of cars and crashed into the Palestinian bus. The Palestinian driver was detained for questioning by the Samaria District's traffic division.
United Hatzalah volunteer Avigdor Katzburg recounted the scene: "When I got to the scene, I came across a young man who had been riding a motorcycle. He was unconscious after having been hit by a vehicle with Palestinian license plates. Due to the severity of the injury he suffered, a military doctor pronounced him dead."
"The other driver was not injured," Katzburg added. "The circumstances of the accident are being investigated by the Israel Police and security forces."
An hour earlier on Sunday, a 20-year-old motorcyclist was critically injured in a road accident on Route 55 near Alfei Menashe. He was treated by medics and evacuated to Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba.
A 72-year-old man was killed on Sunday morning in an accident between two vehicles on Route 25 in southern Israel. A 30-year-old man and 25-year-old woman were also injured in the accident.
