Judea and Samaria police commander resigns abruptly for personal reasons

In the midst of a wave of terror attacks centered largely in the West Bank, the commander of the Judea and Samaria police announced to his officers on Tuesday that he will be resigning from his post after more than three decades of public service.

The abrupt announcement comes only 9 months after Assistant Chief Shlomi Michael was appointed head of the district in February.

Michael said in a statement on Tuesday that “I made a personal decision to resign after 33 years of meaningful and challenging service in a series of roles,” but gave no explanation of the reasons behind the decision.
