Knesset panel upholds ban on MKs on Temple Mount, despite police outline

MKs will not be permitted to visit the Temple Mount, the Knesset Ethics Committee decided Tuesday, though the police had come up with an outline allowing them to do so.

At the request of Ethics Committee member MK Youssef Jabareen (Joint List), the committee reviewed the ban, which it had implemented on November 2, 2015, following a police recommendation that said politicians’ visits to the holy site could provoke violence.
