Kulanu’s concerns about gas plan raise Likud’s ire

If Kulanu votes against the government’s natural gas deal the Likud can vote against the budget, National Infrastructure, Energy and Water Minister Yuval Steinitz implied Monday.

Despite the agreement, Kulanu has yet to commit to how it will vote on the plan, which Environmental Protection Minister Avi Gabbay, who is not an MK, opposes and Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon and Construction Minister Yoav Galant refuse to vote on because of financial conflicts of interest.

A spokeswoman for Kulanu’s faction chairman MK Roi Folkmann said that since the plan has yet to be submitted to the Knesset for any kind of vote, the faction has not held a meeting to decide how it will vote, and many of the MKs have problems with the deal as it stands.
