Liberman Dismisses ‘Leperous’ Hotovely

After accusing Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu of waging a "pogrom" on the Foreign Ministry, Yisrael Beytenu chairman Avigdor Liberman turned his attack Sunday to Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely.

Over the weekend, Liberman launched a harsh critique of Netanyahu, charging him on Facebook of interfering with and weakening the power of the Foreign Ministry.

"This is a hard blow to our national security and Israel's ability to defend itself in the international arena," Liberman argued.

Yisrael Beytenu's chairman announced that a meeting will be held Monday on Netanyahu's handling of the Foreign Ministry, whose powers have been divvied up between multiple ministers since the 20th Knesset elections.

"His moves came one by one and weakened, scattered and dispersed the Foreign Ministry into a body which lacks strength and lacks effectiveness," Liberman blasted.

In response Liberman's attack on Netanyahu, Hotovely accused the former foreign minister of weakness when he controlled the ministry.

"I feel sorry for Tzipi Hotovely," Liberman rejoined, brushing off the comments. "You can't take every leper seriously," he said before adding "it is impossible to exaggerate what has been done to the Foreign Ministry."
