Minister Denounces Arab MKs’ ‘Recipe of Hatred’

Culture and Sport Minister Miri Regev (Likud) sharply criticized the conduct of Arab MKs on the Temple Mount on Tuesday morning, after footage surfaced of MK Jamal Zahalka (Joint List) berating Israeli Police over allowing Jewish visitors to Judaism's holiest site.

Regev attacked the List's Balad faction.

"Take a dose of hatred, incitement to add wildness, mix well with support for terrorism, season and serve up provocation," Regev fired. "We've had it with you, Balad. "[MKs] Zahalka, Azmi Bishara and Hanin Zoabi, they are provocation experts who rally around hatred."

"They do not serve the public that elected them; they hurt them," she continued. "Instead of showing leadership, they discourage tolerance and coexistence, and degrade the Knesset in which they sit."

"They have no place in the Israeli Knesset."

Regev called on Joint List chairman Aymen Odeh to condemn Zahalka, as Odeh allegedly believes in peace and coexistence.

Earlier Tuesday, Yisrael Beytenu chairman and former Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman called on Israel to arrest Zahalka.

"Law enforcement authorities must act firmly against this riot, which is part of other attempts by members of the Joint List to provoke tensions on the Temple Mount and harm Jewish visitors there," he said.

"Zahalka yelled at Jews to get out of there and go to hell, saying that he defends his home – he needs to know not only that the Temple Mount is not his, but that the State of Israel in general is not his or his comrades' home, either."

Several Joint List MKs have been caught actively encouraging rioting on the Mount; recently, MK Ahmed Tibi was filmed hitting an Israel Police officer there, which is a criminal offense.

The MKs recently returned from visiting Jordan and Turkey to champion the Jordanian and Palestinian Authority (PA)'s complaints against Israel regarding the Mount, which both insist should be closed entirely to Jews.
