MK Ahmed Tibi (Joint Arab List) has called on the international community to boycott products from communities in Judea-Samaria. In addition, he says that international pressure should be used to force Israel to abandon its "racist" policies against Palestinians.
Tibi's remarks came during an interview with a Turkish news agency which he conducted while visiting Moscow. He insisted that Israel must be boycotted just as apartheid South Africa. According to Tibi, Jewish communities in Judea-Samaria are an obstacle to a two-state solution and an example of a racist policy against Arab-Israelis.
Tibi also said that he is not certain an agreement can be made with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at this time. However, he is confident that times are changing in his favor and that PM Netanyahu is dragging his feet in order to extend the conflict for as long as possible in the hope that he will be able to change the facts on the ground.
MK Tibi further stated that it is important for Israelis to bear the consequences of their actions. He specified that the Israeli government has two options: a two-state solution or a one-state solution, and it seems that PM Netanyahu is choosing a third option – to maintain the status quo and to further entrench the "occupation" and imposing facts on the ground through an "apartheid regime."
