Mob boss Domrani indicted along with dozens in sweeping organized crime case

Southern Israeli mob kingpin Shalom Domrani and dozens of associates were indicted Thursday for their role in an ongoing gang war in the Ashdod area that has seen a series of murders, bombings, and shootings in the south in recent years.

The case was cracked after a mob enforcer who worked for Domrani turned informant, giving up his boss and bringing the organized crime family to its news.

Domrani himself faces two counts of attempted murder and a series of charges including conspiracy and firearms offenses. Two other crime family heads – Amos Lavi, who runs a Rehovot-based gang, and Yossi Edri of Ashdod, were also charged on Thursday for their alleged role in the gang war.
