Netanyahu: Israel Prize judges’ panel comprised of too many anti-Zionist elements

The judges’ panel for the Israel Prize is comprised of too many extremists, including anti-Zionist elements, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu wrote on his Facebook page Wednesday night.

He was responding to the mounting criticism and political backlash over his alleged interference in the makeup of the judges’ panel of the Israel Prize for Literature.

Netanyahu currently holds the Education Ministry portfolio responsible for overseeing the Israel Prize and in the absence of an Education Minister was asked to approve the judges’ panel, usually a formality.
