Netanyahu: Israel to uphold Gaza blockade after Turkey deal signed

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said Monday that a reconciliation deal with Israel will be signed on Tuesday.

Speaking at a press conference in Ankara, he added that the agreement regards the issue of the blockade on the Gaza Strip. Yildirim also asserted that the deal will stipulate the exchange of the two countries’ ambassadors as soon as possible.

He said under the terms of the deal, Turkey will send a first ship carrying 10,000 tons of humanitarian aid via the Ashdod port in Israel destined for Gaza next Friday.
