Netanyahu’s new government poses for first official photo

With a narrow majority of only one, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s fourth government convened in Jerusalem for its first order of a business – the official photo op.

The new government – Israel’s 34th – is predominantly made up of right wing and religious parties: Bringing together the centrist newcomer Moshe Kahlon’s Kulanu part with the ultra-Orthadox United Torah Judaism, the government faces a slew of challenges, from socio-economic issues, which topped the election cycle, to the diplomatic stalemate with the Palestinians.

Some have expressed skepticism regarding the government’s ability to rule with only a one-seat majority will, opening up speculations that Netanyahu will attempt to reach out to the center-left Zionist Minion to form a unity government.
