NGO claims Jewish bride arrested on wedding day for praying on Temple Mount

Amid a backdrop of increased tension on the Temple Mount, a Zionist legal aid organization claimed that an Israeli woman was arrested at the contested holy site on her wedding day Thursday morning for reciting a Jewish prayer.

According to Honenu, which provides legal services to Jews stemming from Arab aggression, the bride was removed from the site and released roughly two hours later after being interrogated by police.

In a statement, Honenu attorney Rehavia Pilz, who helped expedite the woman’s release, said officers accused her of murmuring a prayer, which is forbidden by the High Court because police consider it a “disturbance of the public order.”
