The security system has placed reinforcements throughout Judea and Samaria (Shomron) over the weekend, with IDF personnel and Border Police being brought into the region over Shabbat.
At the same time, discussions were held over the weekend with leaders of the Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces in order to prevent deterioration and escalation.
In just three days, dozens of rock-throwing incidents were recorded in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria – along with two separate rocket attacks on the Eshkol region from Gaza.
On Saturday, Hamas called for open warfare against Israel, against the backdrop of the death of an additional member of the Palestinian Arab family injured in an arson attack in the PA village of Duma last month.
"Nothing will stop these murderous settler attacks and… we cannot wait until they come into our villages and our homes," a Hamas spokesman said in a statement.
"There is no alternative for our people in the West Bank [Judea and Samaria – ed.] but to launch a comprehensive war against the Occupation."
